Despite hopes for more SPECTRE received a single Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Sam Smith performed the SPECTRE theme song, Writing’s on the Wall, which he co-wrote with Jimmy Napes. The pair recently picked up a Golden Globe for the song. The latest box office figures for SPECTRE put its worldwide takings at $872 million, up from $864 million at end of the first weekend of 2016. Adding just $400,000 domestically, the film added another $3.2 million internationally over the weekend. That puts its cumulative take at $198 million in the US and Canada and $673 million internationally. […]
