A Bond-inspired t-shirt based on the MI6 training gear seen in Skyfall.
At the beginning of Skyfall, Bond returns to MI6 after disappearing in Istanbul. He is out of condition and has to prove he can still do the job while trying to regain his fitness.
That side of Bond has more in common with the novels than the usual film glamour: routine, discipline, institutional pressure, and the sense that Bond is a professional inside a larger machine.
I originally made this t-shirt for myself in 2019, taking the idea from Bond’s training shirt in those scenes. A few people noticed it and asked where they could get one. That eventually led to the store.
The idea behind the design
The reason I created this design was so I’d be able to wear it anywhere without it being an obvious 007 reference. I was pretty sure other Bond fans would notice it though.
And that turned out to be the case. I shared a photo of myself wearing it on Instagram, without announcing anything, and Bond fans started asking where they could get one.
It is also available in several cuts, including a long-sleeved version closer to the shirt Bond wears during the training scenes.
Choose the version that suits you
The design is available in several versions, including short-sleeved and long-sleeved options.
- Classic: the simplest everyday version and the softest all-round option.
- Heavyweight: heavier than the Classic, with a standard fit and sizes up to 5XL.
- Premium: heavyweight but breathable, with a relaxed fit and drop shoulder.
- V-neck: a softer alternative if you prefer that neckline.
- Female fit classic: a more tailored everyday option.
- Female fit V-neck: a fitted V-neck version.
- Long sleeve: closest in spirit to the shirt Bond wears during the training scenes.
Due to product availability, cotton type may vary for some 2XL and 3XL sizes.
Who this is for
This is for Bond fans who like the reference, but don’t want it shouted across the room. It’s something that nods to Bond without turning you into a walking billboard.
But if you want a big 007 logo, this probably isn’t the one.
