Rumour: Lea Seydoux considered for role in Bond 24

Last week website Schmoes Know published an article claiming they’d had a hot tip that Blue is the Warmest Color actress Lea Seydoux was in the running for the main female role in Bond 24. The anonymous source is “very trusted”.

They also cited a previous article from March, in which they quoted a casting breakdown:

Lead Female (30-40) Attractive, sophisticated, cool and calm secret agent.

They also say that the name of the character is Miranda Frost, the double agent played by Rosamond Pike in Die Another Day. Frost was originally to be named Gala Brand, after the female agent in Moonraker, but Pike disliked the name and asked for it to be changed.

The problem with this story is, why would they reintroduce Miranda Frost? There is still the unused Gala Brand, which no doubt will be used at some point as the writers mine Ian Fleming as far as they can for material, such as situations, themes and names.

Given that Miranda Frost’s reappearance is unlikely, it casts into doubt the entire story.
