No Aston Martin for Bond 22?

MI6 are reporting this morning that Aston Martin is unlikely to appear in Bond 22 due Ford currently trying to sell the company.

It has been known for some time that Aston Martin was for sale and with EON locked into a three picture deal with Ford to provide the Bond-mobile, starting with Die Another Day in 2002, another Ford marque is likely to appear instead.

Don’t worry about Q-branch supplying Bond with a Mondeo though – Ford also owns Jaguar whose forthcoming XF model is currently tipped to appear in the film. Bond was offered the choice of an Aston Martin or a Jaguar in the Goldfinger novel – naturally he chose Aston Martin and the rest is history.
