Leicester Square, 13 & 14 November

Leicester Square was taken over completely for the Royal Premier of Casino Royale.

The gardens were shut to the public on Monday and Tuesday while frantic activity went on to dress the square in a Casino Royale theme.

The three cinemas screening the film displayed different versions of the poster – the Odeon Leicester Square is shown below.

The Empire featured the poster with Bond and Vesper wearing a purple dress and had a bridge from the gardens to the cinema entrance with purple carpet, while the Odeon West End featured Solange wearing a red dress and had carpet to match.

The gardens were surrounded with Casino Royale branded drapings and the Aston Martin DBS arrived on Tuesday morning to take its place on a stage towards one end of the garden.

After a meticulous polish the British weather brought down a few showers and so presumably the whole process began again.

Meanwhile the whole of London seemed to be buzzing at the event, with camera crews everywhere, including a Japanese crew in Waterstones where they were filming am item on the Bond books and several crews were waiting to shoot next to the Aston Martin.
