Details of a new James Bond comic have been revealed by Dynamite Entertainment today.

The 10 year deal between Ian Fleming Publications and Dynamite was made public in October 2014, but today it was announced that the first stories will be written by Warren Ellis with artwork by Jason Marsters and timed to coincide with the release of SPECTRE in November. Ellis previously wrote Red, later turned into a film series staring Bruce Willis.

As well as original stories, the first of which will be titled VARGR, Dynamite is also working on adaptations of Ian Fleming’s books. Readers can expect Casino Royale to be set in the timeline of the novels, while the original stories will be in the present day. Also on the table is the prospect of two origin stories, presumably one for each of the timelines.

You can read more in an interview with Dynamite senior editor Joseph Rybandt at Comic Book Resources.

David Leigh founded The James Bond Dossier in 2002. A fan of 007 since the age of 8, he is also author of The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond. You can order a copy here if you don't own it already.
