Designing 007 – a review [James Bond Memes]

Edward Biddulph who is behind James Bond memes and has contributed to this website recently visited “Designing 007”, the exhibition currently taking place at the Barbican in London celebrating 50 years of cinematic James Bond.

He comments that Ian Fleming has not been left out of the exhibition, although the area devoted to him and his influence on the films is small and rather crowded in contrast to the official 007 social media channels, which sometimes seem to write both Fleming and Harry Saltzman out of the history of the James Bond films.

The exhibition is split into themed areas, starting witha gold theme, moving into MI6 HQ with M’s office and Q’s workshop, as well as a casino zone and there is part of the exhibition devoted to designs and costumes from 007’s alpine adventures, including the ski jump from The Spy Who Love Me pre-titles.
