Bond girls head to Oslo on a mission to help the world’s children

On August 20, seven of the most beautiful and glamorous James Bond ladies will be in Oslo for one unforgettable event entitled Bond Girls Are Forever. The Bond Girls will bring classic charm and glamour to a 007-themed dinner and charity auction for UNICEF in the Kino Victoria, paired with an exclusive screening of the newly remastered 4K version of Thunderball, fifty years after its original release in 1965.

Martine Beswick and Luciana Paluzzi, who both starred in Thunderball, will be amongst the fabulous seven Bond girls. They will also bring along actresses Tonia Sotiropoulou from Skyfall, Maryam d’Abo from The Living Daylights, Carole Ashby from Octopussy and A View to a Kill, Carey Lowell from Licence to Kill and Britt Ekland from The Man with the Golden Gun.

“This is the first time these seven Bond Girls have been brought together”, says Morten Andreas Steingrimsen, initiator and Bond-enthusiast.

Steingrimsen promises that the Norwegian capital will notice that Bond’s ladies are in town. Their glamour, style and charm have captivated audiences decade after decade since the film franchise began in 1962. All based on the books of Ian Fleming.

“James Bond has class, and the event will reflect his style. Bentley Motors, Fleming’s choice of car brand for Bond in his novels, will display a selection of its contemporary models, representing the pinnacle of British motoring with the looks and power that you would expect in a 007 adventure. Breitling will display the original Navitimer wrist chronograph that Sean Connery wore in Thunderball. For the event, the Swiss watch manufacture Breitling
has also donated a Navitimer for a charity auction during the event”, says Steingrimsen.

Sir Roger Moore, who played British agent James Bond in no less than seven films, has long been an ambassador for UNICEF. The former 007 is a passionate advocate for children’s rights, and the proceeds of the auction will therefore go to UNICEF which is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation for children.

“In the books and films, one can get the impression that James Bond has nine lives. The rest of us only have one. UNICEF is grateful for this gift that will contribute to save lives and give all children a fair chance in life”, says Bernt G. Apeland, Executive Director of UNICEF Norway.

The exclusive evening will be complemented with gastronomic highlights worthy of the British secret agent, prepared by Dag Tjersland, one of Oslo’s top chefs. Expert bartenders from the Verité Cocktail Lounge will mix drinks of the 007 universe. Shaken, not stirred, naturally!

“I can promise an unforgettable evening, filled with James Bond style and glamour”, says Morten Andreas Steingrimsen.
