The Vodka Martini, “shaken not stirred”, is easily the most famous of all Bond’s drinks and ordered some 20 times in the Eon films.
Shaking a Martini rather than stirring it will make the drink colder, more aerated and slightly cloudy due to the presence of ice shards. Smirnoff Black, which has a mellow smoothness and depth to it, allows the delicate balance of flavours of this classic cocktail to shine through.
| 007 Black Martini (Shaken not Stirred) | |
| Ingredients | 50ml Smirnoff Black |
| 5ml Noilly Prat (Dry Vermouth) | |
| Lemon Twist | |
| Method | Pour the vermouth into the martini glass and fill with crushed ice and water. Shake the Smirnoff Black with cubed ice well in a separate cocktail shaker. Discard the contents of the martini glass (which will leave a vermouth rinse on the glass). Strain the Smirnoff into the glass and garnish with a lemon twist. |
