‘Warhead’ script to be auctioned at Christie’s tonight

A copy of the screenplay for Kevin McClory’s second proposed Thunderball remake (the first was Never Say Never Again) is being auctioned this evening at Christie’s in London.

According to MI6 another copy sold in 2008 for £46,850, although the estimate for this one is just £1,000 to £1,500.

Unfortunately it is not clear whether the photo used in the MI6 news item is of the copy to be auctioned tonight. If it is the copy that sold in 2008 there is perhaps a reason for the difference in price; it is signed by Sean Connery, while Len Deighton appears to have removed his name from the credits.

Back in May we reported about the missing Breitling watch from Thunderball that had turned up after all these years and is also to be auctioned tonight.

David Leigh founded The James Bond Dossier in 2002. A fan of 007 since the age of 8, he is also author of The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond. You can order a copy here if you don't own it already.
