A new report has added weight to the reports that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the latest writer to work on Bond 25’s script.

According to Variety, the creator of Fleabag and Killing Eve has been brought in by filmmakers to polish the script rather than substantially rework the story, as reported by some news outlets. A portion of the fanbase has been enraged by the suggestion that Waller-Bridge would rewrite the script to bring it in line with the #MeToo movement.

While appearing to confirm reports that the actress and writer is on board Bond 25, possibly the most interesting piece of information in the article relates to the start date. The unnamed Variety source said “production remained on track to begin at the end of April”.

With Easter almost upon us it seems likely that Bond 25 will start soon afterwards. While we have been expecting a press event to be held at Pinewood since early April, our patience should be rewarded soon.
