The Vesper in Casino Royale

Thanks to our friends at Make Mine a 007… it seems like one thing that will remain in Casino Royale is Bond’s drink. If you go to the official Casino Royale page, click on the martini glass for more information – click on the chip that says dealer (the table will swing round) and click on it for more information.

The Vesper – named after the heroine – contains gin, vodka and Lillet, shaken until ice cold and garnished with a slice of lemon peel.

The drink that appears on the web site even has the slice of lemon peel, so it looks like the film makers have gone for Fleming’s original recipe. Maybe we’ll be able to forgive Eon for dropping the Baccarat in favour of Poker.

Note: Lillet is remarkably difficult to obtain – if you’re planning on making your Vesper at home then you may need to use the Lillet website to find your nearest stockist.
