Tabloids push Skyfall theme rumours

The tabloids are having a field day with reports of who will perform the Skyfall theme song, with a report by The Sun that Noel Gallagher was scheduled to meet Michael G Wilson to being denied by the former Oasis star in a typically robust fashion on his blog.

Weanwhile The Star is reports that David Arnold would love Queen to write the theme song with Lady Gaga singing. Arnold, who has not yet been confirmed for the soundtrack, told The Star:

“I’m a massive Queen fan and I would love them to do a theme tune.

Imagine how ridiculously bombastic a Queen anthem could be. It’s a shame because they would have been perfect for Roger Moore’s Bond during the 80s when he was punching clowns.”

That’s not quite the same as saying that he’d like Queen to do the Skyfall theme though. And the Lady Gaga story comes from Brian May telling the paper:

“We still hope to do something with GaGa in the future.

“We’ve been close to doing something for TV before – she is an inspiration.”

Nothing there about Queen being in the running for the Skyfall theme at all. While it is certainly possible that Lady Gaga and Queen may team up in the future, that is a long way from them teaming up for Skyfall.
