This last week saw the latest Bond film gross $16.9 million to make it the global number 5. The previous week SPECTRE earned $28.4 million as third highest grossing movie worldwide.

Earnings internationally were $12.9 million (down from $23 million, a 43% drop) with $4 million earned domestically (down from $5.4 million, a 26% drop). That takes total estimated earnings to $820.6 million, well short of Skyfalls $1.1 billion payday.

However, that had the advantage of being released in 2012, a year celebrating half a century of James Bond films. The London Olympics also took place in 2012, which Skyfall may have benefited from in two ways.

First, was the publicity generated by 007 and the Queen apparently parachuting into the opening ceremony. Second, Skyfall may have benefited featuring London extensively.
