Today sees the publication of Solo in the United States, not quite two weeks after its debut in the UK.

Written by William Boyd, the book is published in the US by Harper and available in both hardback and Kindle versions from Amazon. Solo is set in 1969 and introduces 007 as he celebrates his 45th birthday in London, but soon he is sent by M to Africa, his brief to end a bloody civil war. However, what he sees there takes him to Washington DC well he decided to go solo.

While reactions from fans have been mixed, it has received several good reviews in the UK press. The James Bond Dossier published a review on Solo last week, which you can read here.

David Leigh founded The James Bond Dossier in 2002. A fan of 007 since the age of 8, he is also author of The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond. You can order a copy here if you don't own it already.
