Sam Mendes could return for another Bond. But only if he can match Skyfall

In an interview with Time Out, Sam Mendes discusses Skyfall, telling the interviewer that when he started working on the project he was surprised at how opinionated he was about how to make a good James Bond film.

Mendes finishes the interview by saying that he enjoyed the experience enough to make another Bond film. However, he follows it up by saying that he put everything he wanted to into Skyfall and to follow it up he would have to feel he could match it. While that doesn’t rule him out of Bond 24 precisely, it doesn’t sound like he would want to come back on board in time for the 2014 release desired by Sony.
