Last week we reported that Sam Mendes had departed The Preacher in favour of directing Bond 23, according to the producer of that film.
The Telegraph has added credence to this report, stating that Barbara Broccoli, co-producer of the Bond films, had confirmed to their gossip columnist that Mendes would indeed be directing.
The article goes on to say that Peter Morgan, who had been working on the script late last year, has now left the project; in his place Mendes wants to bring on board playwright Patrick Marber, although the Telegraph was unable to confirm this.
