New album covers James Bond theme songs for charity

Current and former members of The Wedding Present cover 20 Bond classics.

Musicians associated with British indie-rockers The Wedding Present have released an album of 20 James Bond cover versions. The band formed in Leeds in 1985 and was associated with the C86 movement in the UK.

According to the band’s singer, David Gedge, Not From Where I’m Standing was conceived during a 2013 soundcheck while band members started playing You Only Live Twice –  indeed, that is the contribution of The Wedding Present.

That gave him the idea of inviting current and former members of both The Wedding Present and his side project, Cinerama, to do an entire album of Bond covers.
