The Mail Online has a feature on Naomie Harris in which she discusses her role in Skyfall. She tells in an interview that her character, Eve, “has come a long way from the traditional Bond girl” and that “she’s very intelligent and highly ambitious – her aim is to be as capable as James Bond” and “you watch other movies and you think, ‘Wow, are we really still there… where the woman’s offering the drinks and there’s nothing more to her?'”.
That last line makes me wonder if she’s seen any of the Bond films since the 1980s; why is it that every new Bond girl actress makes pretty much the same statement?
Elektra? Jinx? Vesper? Camille?
They were hardly there to serve Bond drinks either.
