Don Black, who has written the lyrics for a number of James Bond theme songs is to receive an award on behalf of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), the body responsible for US performing rights. The article notes:

“The songwriting award honours European songwriters and publishers for their success over the past year on US radio and television. The BMI works to collect royalties on behalf of these performers.
