Joanne Froggatt, who plays Anna in ITV’s period piece Downton Abbey, has reportedly been in talks with Eon about the Bond girl role in Bond 24.
Virgin Media cites the Sunday Daily Star as quoting the usual unnamed source, but a search on the Daily Star website has failed to find the article mentioned. Our friends at MI6 have reported in the past that the producers are looking for a Brit to play the main Bond girl, so this story does fit in with that.
However, with thousands of British actresses available it is difficult to assess the credibility of the source. With filming expected to start in October there is bound to be the usual press conference prior to kicking things off and until that time it is unlikely the producers will reveal any solid information.
