MTV recently interviewed Daniel Craig about Skyfall and when they asked him about the timetable for Bond 24 he replied:
“I think they’d like to [speed up the timetable], and I think that would be the plan. That was too long last time. […] As long as we’ve got the script and we’re ready to go, there’s no reason why we can’t start shooting.”
While Skyfall‘s four year gap was forced by the bankruptcy of MGM, it had originally been intended to released last year. Sony is on record as expressing a desire to return to every other year releases, but unless Eon Productions are prepared to work to that schedule and have started work on Bond 24 then it may be a mistake – and Quantum of Solace shows that you just can’t rush a Bond film without having a half decent and completed script prior to shooting.
