Corgi to release 50th anniversary Aston Martin DB5

The official 007 website has announced that Corgi will be releasing a new version of its famous model Aston Martin DB5 to coincide with both the 50th anniversary of Dr No and the release of Skyfall later in the year.

The 1:36 scale replica has remained a constant favourite with collectors since the original version, complete with ejector seat, was released in the 1960s after the DB5’s first appearance in Goldfinger (1964).

Since then Aston Martin has been irrevocably linked to 007 and while various models have appeared in the films, it is the DB5 that continues to be most closely associated with James Bond. The most recent appearance was in Casino Royale (2006), but it will be returning later this year in Skyfall.

The Corgi model will be available in August for £15.99. There are currently no details on the Corgi website.
