Barbara Broccoli has ditched Daniel Craig according The Book Bond, citing an unnamed trusted source who has been “right before”. The site mentioned that the producers want to gain back the control handed over to Craig by making him co-producer on SPECTRE.
007 Magazine adds that Tom Hiddleston was screen tested about a month ago and offered the role, which he is now considering. No source is given.
James Bond Radio on the other hand says those reports are nonsense. They “have it on very good authority”.
To me it seems too early to sign up an actor without having a script in place. I’ve said previously it would make sense for Eon to sound out a number of potential replacements, but have been wrong before.

I’ve taken to the policy that unless EON has officially announced it, I’m not getting excited one way or the other.

Either way, I’m so fed up with the constant “who should be the next Bond” stories. Really hope Craig does one more. He certainly has one more left in him and the reintroduction of Blofeld should keep the Spectre story going until a more satisfactory conclusion can be made. Can’t help thinking that Craig’s Bonds will feel anticlimactic if he leaves now given they have all been linked.

Agree, EON folks will be the only ones with the truth – even Daniel Craig won’t necessarily know if he’s in or out – recall the change from Brosnan to Craig – Brosnan found out along with the rest of us.
