CNN names Scotland as top worldwide destination thanks to Skyfall

Scotland has been named the number one tourist destination in the world by CNN Travel, following the scenes in and around James Bond’s ancestral home at the end of Skyfall.

Scotland finished ahead of locations such ad Rabat in Morocco, Kosice in Slovakia, and other destinations to secure the top spot in CNN’s list of must see places.

Although some scenes were filmed near Glencoe, it is perhaps a little ironic that much of the filming took place on a set built in Surrey.
