Whether or not you agree with the sentiment, this video by two Bond fans, which includes footage from every James Bond film from Eon Productions into which they have edited shots of them holding a sign demanding “It’s got to be Bassey”, is very well done.
Paul Joseph and Tim Benzie spent three weeks working in the project and have launched a social media campaign demanding the film makers bring back Shirley Bassey for SPECTRE.
What do you think? Bring back Shirley Bassey or bring in someone else?

Dame Shirley B would be great, but since this is a re-introduction of SPECTRE, maybe Tom Jones might be a better choice. Not sure if he can hit the notes like he used to, but you never know.
Either way, it would be nice.

It would add a nice touch of Deja Vu for true bond fans as well as having one hell of a Singer opening the movie with a bang…

Gentlemen, gentlemen, I applaud your efforts and your choice 100%. Shirley was the quintessential female vocalist of all of the women who sang the theme songs. The clincher lies in Shirley’s very slight English accent. And as we all know…….Bond, I’m talking James Bond….. was British. How totally appropriate it would be that Shirley sings the opener.

I wanted this for the 50th anniversary. I still want it for SPECTRE quite naturally. I also would like Sir Tom to return as well. Maybe there’s s way to fit two songs in, or dare I say, a duet with The Dame? Either way, I’ll sign the petition!
