Bond 50 interview with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson

The current producers of the James Bond films talk about how the imminent Blu-ray release of the entire Bond catalogue is good for the fans and viewable in the best possible quality at the present moment.

Broccoli talks about some of the iconic moments in Dr No and how they try and bring similar iconic moments to each and every film, and then goes on to talk about what she learned from her father, Cubby, repeating once again how they had to put all the money on the screen.

Wilson says rather less, both about his relationship with Cubby Broccoli, his stepfather, as well as reinventing the Bond series over and over again to ensure that they give audiences what they want.

They finish talking about Goldeneye, with Broccoli talking about how her father had cast Pierce Brosnan and handed over the production reins to her and her stepbrother, and then about director Martin Campbell, who of course returned for Casino Royale.

I thought Barbara would not mention the ‘you had your six’ scene as the defining moment in Dr. No. But she did after ‘My name is Bond’ and ‘Ursula Andress stepping out of the sea’. I think the number on moment is shooting the unharmed Prof. Dent one in the stomack and one more in the back. Still schocking, I believe.Great video. Thanks.
