Birthday of The Spy Who Loved Me actress Caroline Munro [1949]

Caroline Munro, who played helicopter pilot Naomi in The Spy Who Loved Me, was born in Windsor on 16th January 1949.

Munro moved to London when her was a modelling career took off at 17 and had a bit part in the spoof version of Casino Royale in 1967.

Becoming the face of Lamb’s Navy Rum for the decade starting in 1969, Munro appeared alongside Vincent Price and after being seen on a poster for Lamb’s was signed by Hammer Films, at which point she decided to focus on acting.

In 1977 she was offered the role of Ursa in Superman alongside Christopher Reeves but instead chose to play Naomi in The Spy Who Loved Me.
