Bond 25 will “hopefully” announce director early next year according to Barbara Broccoli.
Irish pubic broadcaster RTÉ spoke to Barbara Broccoli yesterday about the Blake Lively spy thriller The Rhythm Section. Broccoli is producing the film, due for release in 2019, currently shooting in Ireland. However, as well as discussing the merits of filming in Ireland, Broccoli said about Bond 25:
We’ve got the biggest and most important piece in place, which is Daniel. I’m very happy that he’s coming back. So, to me, that’s the crucial thing. And we’re just looking on everything else. We don’t have too much in place, but we’ve got the main man in place, so that makes me very happy.
We’ve got our Daniel; we’ve got to find the director. We’re working on the script and we’ll see… Hopefully by the beginning of the year we’ll have more news on all those fronts.
After praising the country and people, Broccoli was asked about the possibility of Bond visiting the country. She replied:
Let’s see, maybe we’ll try and get Bond here at some point. I must say, having experienced, it I would love to come back.
Of course, Bond 25 still has no distributor until MGM signs a deal with another studio to take care of that side of things. Gradually things are moving, if not yet falling into place.
