[Video] Amsterdam Filming Locations from Diamonds Are Forever

In May I was in the Netherlands for a couple of days, with slightly more than a day in Amsterdam. While there we did as much sightseeing as possible, including a couple of locations from Diamonds Are Forever.

The first location is known in English as the Skinny Bridge, from where Wint and Kidd watch as Mrs Whistler’s body is lifted out of the river Amstel.

The other is a house a couple of blocks away. Bond goes to 36 Reguliersgracht to meet Tiffany Case. He gets there in a yellow Triumph Stag, which is also seen from the Skinny Bridge.

If you’d like to find out more about other locations from the films I recommend getting your hands on a copy of On the Tracks of 007 by Martijn Mulder and the late Dirk Kloosterboer.

You can learn more about the book here.

David Leigh founded The James Bond Dossier in 2002. A fan of 007 since the age of 8, he is also author of The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond. You can order a copy here if you don't own it already.

Nice little film, David ! It’s always fun to spot actual locations of films, and nobody does it better in picking interesting spots, than the 007 people. I remember the thrill of going into the Bottoms Up Club in Hong Kong, less then a year after MWTGG came out.

Very good! I really enjoy all your efforts for keeping all fans updated on James Bond. I hope the idea, writings, movies, letters, books and everything else continues on. I have been a James Bond fan since I watched Dr. No. I am hooked! Keep up the good work. Thank you!

Good, very good David, you prove, once more, that you are the best example of a Bond fan, and we all have you there to inform us and do a good video report like the one in Amsterdam. Thank you and keep up your high level of information and good text reports. If you are fan number 1, I am fan number 2, believe me. I am flying to London tomorrow, Thursday, for my yearly Summer London stay… If only we could have a beer anywhere. Please, let me know, I will be there till the 5th Sept. Best regards and have a good summer Bond-break.
