Skyfall takes $156 M in second week

Skyfall continues to be the number one film worldwide according to box office figures published by Rentrak Corporation. The company, which specialises estimating box office returns for movies, reported that Skyfall took $156 million worldwide in its second week, making a total of $287 million so far.

That is not a bad figure considering the movie doesn’t open in the US until Thursday on IMAX, or Friday in regular theatres. It also shows that bringing Sam Mendes on board and once again updating the Bond movie formula appears to have paid off for MGM and Sony.
