Trailer drops for second series of 007: Road to a Million

Prime Video has released the trailer for series two of its Bond-inspired reality adventure, promising a sharper, more action-driven format after criticism of its debut run.

The new trailer for 007: Road to a Million gives Bond fans their first look at Brian Cox’s expanded role as The Controller. Once again pulling the strings from his command centre, Cox will now operate from an upgraded control room, monitoring contestants’ progress while issuing wry, deadpan observations. He is joined this year by Sofia, played by Frances McNamee, who acts as his right-hand woman in orchestrating the contest.

Speaking about his return, Cox said:

Returning as The Controller this time around, the series feels more high-octane, more immersive, and definitely more Bond. The challenges are bigger, the drama runs deeper, and I’ve got the best seat in the house to watch it unfold.

Prime Video also hints that viewers will see more of The Controller’s shadowy global network, suggesting a deeper fictional backdrop for the action.

Eight pairs of ordinary people will take on a globe-spanning race for a £1 million prize. From climbing Bangkok towers to shark dives in the Bahamas, the challenges are designed to test nerve, skill and teamwork. The slowest pairs face elimination in the tense “Killer Question” round, leaving only one surviving duo to return to London and face The Controller in person.

The first series, which launched in 2023, was a streaming hit but faced criticism from reviewers and some Bond fans. Many felt its 007 connection was superficial, its pacing sluggish, and Cox underused. Others complained the stunts looked overly staged and lacked urgency. Series two appears to address these concerns with bigger set pieces, a faster elimination structure, and more screen time for Cox.

007: Road to a Million is an eight-part UK Original Series and will launch globally on Prime Video on 22nd August 2025. The service is available in the UK, US and Europe at no extra cost for Prime members.
