If you thought Bond’s turf was all baccarat in Monte Carlo and car chases in the Alps, think again. In The James Bond Lover’s Guide to Britain, author Edward Biddulph brings 007 back home—not just to MI6 headquarters, but to the towns, hotels, and landscapes across Britain that shaped both Ian Fleming and his most famous creation. Published by Pen & Sword imprint White Owl, this 176-page paperback due out in October 2025 promises to be essential reading for Bond fans with a taste for travel—or trivia.

This is the first guidebook to stitch together the full patchwork of Bond’s British connections. There are the obvious cinematic stops: Eilean Donan Castle in The World Is Not Enough, St George’s Hall in The Living Daylights, and of course Glen Etive, where Skyfall briefly gave 007 an ancestral past. But Biddulph digs deeper, walking readers through the very streets that inspired the books. Think Kent for Moonraker, or the London clubs and hotels where Bond ordered his first vodka martini—shaken, naturally.

The book isn’t just for those retracing Bond’s footsteps, though it certainly doubles as a travel guide. It’s equally rooted in the life of Ian Fleming, whose wartime experience and peacetime tastes are revealed in the restaurants, homes and hidden corners that colour Bond’s world. For those who know that Bond smoked Morland Specials or stayed at the Ritz before Fleming did, this book offers the satisfying confirmation that real life and fiction have always been entwined.
