The enduring marriage between James Bond and Champagne Bollinger enters a sparkling new chapter this week with the launch of the Special Cuvée 007 Limited Edition. Celebrating more than 45 years as the official champagne of 007, this latest release combines French finesse with unmistakable Bond style—at a moment timed to perfection.
Released ahead of James Bond Day on 5th October, the limited edition bottle also nods to the 40th anniversary of A View to a Kill, the 1985 film that featured Champagne Bollinger in typically opulent fashion. In one of the film’s most memorable moments, Roger Moore’s Bond pours a glass for Stacey Sutton (played by Tanya Roberts) at Zorin’s extravagant French estate—a sequence steeped in glamour, espionage, and unmistakable bubbles.
The relationship between Bond and Bollinger stretches back far beyond that moment on screen. It began onscreen in 1979 with Moonraker, although Ian Fleming had already namechecked Bollinger in his 1956 novel Diamonds Are Forever. What began as a refined touch has since evolved into a hallmark of the franchise, synonymous with sophistication, precision, and the quiet confidence of a man who always knows what to order.
For Bond fans and collectors, the Special Cuvée 007 Limited Edition arrives in a black-and-gold collector’s box worthy of Q Branch. The packaging features a hypnotic gold gun barrel design—an unmistakable echo of the franchise’s iconic title sequences—with Bond’s silhouette at its centre. The bottle itself carries 007 branding on the neck collar, a subtle but decisive gesture underscoring its pedigree.
Victoria Carfantan, Director of Global Partnerships at Champagne Bollinger, said the release is “both a celebration of our shared history and an invitation for Bond fans and champagne lovers alike to savour the taste of The Champagne of James Bond.”
British Airways is marking the occasion with a Bond-worthy flourish of its own. From 1st to 5th October, the airline will serve the limited edition Champagne exclusively in Club World on all long-haul flights. Travellers in all cabins will also be treated to the full Bond film collection via the in-flight entertainment system until year’s end—a fitting toast to the cinematic legacy of 007.
As with all things in Bond’s world, timing is everything. And this latest edition arrives not just to mark anniversaries but to reinforce what has become one of the most iconic brand pairings in film history. Bollinger is not merely a drink in the Bond universe; it’s a signal of taste, status, and continuity. Like Bond himself, it’s elegant under pressure and always the right choice.
