Bond 25 to shoot in Jamaica according to Baz Bamigboye

The latest updates on Bond 25 feature in today’s showbiz column for the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye has proven to be right on various occasions regarding the Bond films. As a result any website following the latest Bond film news pays attention to what he writes.

And his column today he mentions few bits and pieces about Bond 25. Note that there is a small spoiler if you continue reading.

Filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga and a small crew are heading to Norway to shoot a frozen lake before it thaws. The footage will be incorporated into the pre-credit scenes for Bond 25, starring Daniel Craig.

It’s interesting to note that Danny Boyle, who withdrew as director, had wanted to film an iced-over lake in Canada. Principal filming will take place in Jamaica and at studios in the UK. The latest version of the screenplay is still being written.

A couple of things here are interesting. First is that the Norway location work appears to be taking place before filming officially starts in April. It fits in with what we already knew though.

The second is that Jamaica is confirmed here as a location. Previously Greg Wilson was reported to be in Jamaica scouting locations but there was no way to confirm the story at the time.
