American jazz musician Herb Alpert, who with the Tijuana Brass performed the theme for 1967 spoof version of Casino Royale, was born on 31st March 1935 in Los Angeles. As well as Casino Royale, he also performed a trumpet solo on the title song of Never Say Never Again (1983), which was sung by his wife, Lani Hall.
