Birthday of George Lazenby [1939]

George Lazenby

George Lazenby, who played James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, was born in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia on 5th September 1939.

Lazenby’s single entry into the Bond canon proved to be relatively unpopular on first release, the stature of the film and that of George Lazenby’s portrayal of Bond has grown over time. Although his experience shows through in many scenes, his physical portrayal of Bond in one of the most faithful adaptations of any of Ian Fleming’s books is today much more favourably received.’
