Sony has announced a limited edition Reader Digital Book bundle that includes a smart cover embossed with the 007 logo as well as downloads of the books Casino Royale and For Your Eyes Only.
The Reader is extremely portable and has enough internal capacity for about 160 ebooks, allowing you a huge choice of reading material wherever you are, while the screen is easy to read so that you won’t suffer eyestrain. It can be extended with removable memory cards onto which you can choose from thousands of titles, including new releases and classics.
In addition to ebooks from the Sony Store, you can also use it to view popular document formats such as PDF and MS Word, while its long battery life lasts up to 7,500 continuous page turns – it won’t give out just before the last page.

This sounds very much like amazon’s Kindle, except it apparently has no wireless interface. I wonder how the price compares.

It certainly is a competitor to the Kindle, I guess we’ll see more offerings over the next few months.
The big advantage of the Sony product is the 007 logo though :)
