SPECTRE press conference scheduled for Wednesday in Mexico

SPECTRE news

Following the locations shoots in Austria and Rome, this week sees the main unit of SPECTRE arrive in Mexico City for several weeks of filming.

According to our friends at MI6 a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday with Michael G Wilson and recently announced signing Stephanie Sigman, who plays Mexican Bond Girl Estrella, so at the very least I think we can expect photos and perhaps video footage.

MI6 says shooting starts in Mexico City’s historic centre on 20th March, with Mexican Heritage societies having green-lighted the planned locations and filming both here and at other Mexican locations will continue until mid-April.

In the last week it has come to light that in order to secure up to $20 million of tax incentives for SPECTRE‘s colossal budget, possibly as high as $300 million, Mexican Authorities had requested script changes to cast the country in a more positive light.

Recently Mexico’s international image has suffered as the result of the drug cartels working hand in hand with police and local government, including the presumed murder of 43 students who were arrested while on their way to a protest and handed over by police to a local gang.
