Postage stamp issue to celebrate Ian Fleming’s birth

To celebrate the centenary of the birth of Ian Fleming on May 28th 2007, Buckingham Covers is to issue special commemorative first day covers with stamps featuring several of the covers from novels.

The first day covers, which are licensed by Ian Fleming Publications, will be issued on January 8th 2008 and are currently available for pre-order.

Two covers are available; the first is postmarked in Mayfair, where Ian Fleming was born and features a diamond design, while the second sports an underwater theme and is postmarked St Margaret’s-at-Cliff, Kent, where Ian Fleming lived.

Autographed copies

A limited number of signed copies will also be available; the former by Dame Judi Dench, who has appeared as M in the last 5 Bond films, while the latter is available signed by Richard Kiel or Sir Roger Moore.
