Bonhams to auction original Thunderball screenplays in December

Knightsbridge auction house Bonhams is to run a sale of entertainment memorabilia on December 18th that includes a number of lots related to James Bond. Of particular interest to many collectors will be the original screenplays for Thunderball written by Jack Whittingham, the rights of which Danjaq/MGM has recently obtained from the heirs of Kevin McClory:

Lot 95: Ian Fleming: a copy memorandum to Jack Whittingham and copy first draft screen treatment titled James Bond of the Secret Service.

Lot 96: Jack Whittingham: a first draft continuity treatment by Jack Whittingham for James Bond of the Secret Service (1959).

Lot 97: Jack Whittingham: a first draft copy shooting script Longitude 78 West (circa December-February 1960).

Lot 98: Jack Whittingham: a final edition bound script for the first James Bond screenplay Thunderball (1960).

Lot 99: Thunderball premiere ‘souvenir’ programme given to Jack Whittingham.

Other items can be found on the Bonhams website and include a number of posters, a Goldfinger script, a kimono worn on set by Sean Connery in You Only Live Twice.
