Nice to see them in chat ! Thank you ! Sylvia Trench started it – ” Trench – Sylvia Trench “….to which our man replied for the first time , to be funny: “Bond – James Bond”.

But there is growth within the classic script without violating the basics, as in all valid evolution. It is valid and fun to observe the details of the evolution and their varied ways. Some of the men who play Bond are more likely , in their individual interpretation, to have fun with fans and with gadgets…others not.

Sean Connery flared the nostrils and in that moment before any physical feat, seemed to be straightening his cufflinks, to warn them of a bit of necessary roughness upcoming.

Today’s man works out and Daniel Craig is very physical and he is unique in his expressed love of country and Devotion to MI6 and M. Less duty and more devotion, indeed, seem to be the thing. We’ve come to love Bond so much that his personhood has become enriched.

OK – Fleming in the original books with the whole Bond thing ahead of him quite probably found the idea daunting, at least at first – describing a whole person in writing! How? A person is a pretty fancy thing. But here is where the accidental genius happens because the Bond is an automaton , in Her Majesty’s service and therefore it is ok if he is devoid of depth of personhood in some ways – a relief and excuse for the author.

And, lucky us! An ocean of opportunity for the stories that follow!

Bond fans have come to expect certain “elements” from the series, he set a standard ONLY Bond can live up to. We as fans may have varied perspectives, only mine is accurate of course as my shinning quality is my modesty, that said; I give Craig a great deal of credit for taking on the role with real passion, it couldn’t have been easy but he’s made the role his, good for him….still, they should’ve call me! :(
