To celebrate the release of Quantum of Solace, Kenji Jesse, Global Ambassador for Smirnoff Black, has compiled a menu of 4 cocktails that will be used used at the international premieres.
The James Bond Dossier will be bringing each of them to you over the next few days, starting today the Vesper, from Casino Royale.
Before Bond came along on the scene, Martinis were usually made with gin. In Casino Royale, the first book by Ian Fleming, we see 007 ask for his favourite Russian tipple, vodka, to be added into the drink along with Kina Lillet (now Lillet Blanc), naming it after his love interest Vesper Lynd.
Smirnoff Black vodka is perfect to use in this drink as it is made in a pot still, the traditional Russian method of Vodka production.
